About Our Adoption Events
Angel's
Wish does not have a shelter; we believe animals do best in
a foster care setting instead of being in a cage while awaiting
a new home. Fostering allows us to provide loving, individual
care and assess behavior and personality in a home-setting.
This helps us to make better matches and increases the probability
of permanent placement.
If you are interested in a specific
animal, just make an appointment with their foster home or
find out which adoption event they will be at by contacting
the person listed on the animal's Petfinder.com page. Otherwise, come to one of our many adoption events to meet multiple animals at once. A map to each location is
available by clicking on the location's address.

Happy
Endings
Every
week people come to us looking for a new member of the family,
and every week several great animals find new homes with those
wonderful people.
We often hear from these adoptive families
letting us know how their pet is doing. We are proud of our
successes and enjoy sharing some of their stories with you here!
Hi Pam and Joann,
I just wanted to drop you a follow up note and let you know that life with Blossom, or as she is known around here Eartha Kitt, is fabulous. She is one of the sweetest cats I have ever known. After a few days the minor hissing and swatting subsided and she has quickly taken over the top cat position in our house. We even saw our giant cat, Rupert, licking her head today as they watched the birds during the snow storm. Thank you so very much for rescuing her and for giving her to us. I look forward to many many years of love and fun from our dear little princess. I've attached a photo that my husband took of this morning, right after my cup of coffee. There is also a second one of Eartha looking extremely ridiculous. This poor cat has no dignity, but that's one of the things that we really love about her.
Keep doing what you are doing, it is amazing work and you do amazing things with these animals,

Hello,
It is time for my 10 day progress report on how our little Lewis is doing. He is perched right here next to me in the recliner as I send this email if that tells you anything at all! He is doing wonderfully- already spoiled rotten. He adores my husband with whom he snuggles with every Sunday in our soft comfortable Packer recliner and watches the Nascar races. Jeff (my hubby) covers up with one of them warm fleece blankets and Louie is right there by his side all snuggled in and covered up with the blanket- he loves it! His motor is going the whole time! He is getting along quite well with the rest of the troops (our dog Chloe and my 16 yr. old kitty, Bear.) I am actually very pleased with the progress they have all made and I tell them everyday how proud I am of all of them. You must think I'm nuts huh? I just love my animals so much! Lewis is very much our inquisitive one- he still walks around and checks things out all the time- new smells everywhere. He has discovered the sunroom and loves to sit on the cat stand we have in there and today I put his pet bed in the bay window and he sat basking and cleaning himself in the sun for hrs. He does still like the dog kennel though- I think its his safe haven as it was the first place he discovered when he got here! I did get him to snuggle in bed with me for a little bit last nite though as we watched American Idol- we have a heated mattress pad and he loved that! He is very good at taking his meds in his treats and loves the Iams that I feed my Bear. Every now and then he will eat a bite of the soft food I feed Bear but not a whole lot- he likes his hard food better. He also loves my stepson Nate and sits on his lap while he is on the computer or watching TV downstairs. He loves a nice warm lap! So all in all he is doing just fine and he is such a good boy! One other thing that he and Bear love is that cat dancer toy that I bought at the shelter when I came to sign the adoption papers.(Lynn- this is the toy that he was playing with at your house the day I picked him up remember? The wire with what looks like cardboard pieces at the end of it?) They both go crazy for that thing! Best $3.49 I ever spent! I have taken many pictures and have to have my hubby help me with downloading them to our computer- once I figure this out I will email you both some of them- otherwise if I can't figure it out (I'm not really a computer whiz) I will make copies and mail them to you ok? Well thats it for now- please don't worry about Louie- he is in good hands and has a wonderful new home. We love him! If either of you has any questions please feel free to contact us- we work alot during the week (until at least 6) but are home on the week-ends. Take-care and we will talk to you again soon.
Sincerely,
Lisa, Jeff & Nate

Our Little Angel - Tia |
Dear Angels Wish:
I adopted my first cat, Annika, from you around September 2004. At the time she had just had her front leg amputated and was very ornery. Apparently, according to the vet that had treated her, they believe her leg was broken from abuse and her previous owners requested to have it amputated instead of fixing it. Then, when they returned to bring her home they said that she was too ugly and just left her. When I met Annika for the first time she hissed and scratched me. But, I couldn't say no to such a beautiful cat that's had such a hard life, so I decided to adopt her. Angel's Wish was so great about it and due to her difficulties left me an open door should I ever decide that we were not a good match.
Well, while Annika is not the perfect, model cat she has come a long way. She will now cuddle with me and my girlfriend and loves sleeping on a lap more than anything. She's still wary around strangers but is no longer as quick to attack as she was 4 years ago. I can even touch the spot where her missing leg should be and pick her up without being scratched or bitten.
I just want to thank you for fostering her and keeping her until she found a home. I know many shelters would not have taken the time with her since she was considered a difficult adoption. I'm so glad I decided to adopt her because she has been more than worth it. I included a picture of her from this past fall so that you can see she's still spunky as ever.
Thank you again.
