Stories from Adopted Pets
Every week people come to us looking for a new member of the family, and every week several great animals find new homes with those wonderful people. We often hear from these adoptive families letting us know how their pet is doing. We are proud of our successes and enjoy sharing some of their stories with you here!
Hi Sue, Bella is doing great, it took her all of two hours to settle in. She is so loving and sweet. She loves 'da bird toy, I mean LOVES it so much she has destroyed quite a few. She is not afraid of my son, and he thinks when she meows it is the funniest thing. That's good because she has a lot to say. :-) Thanks again and if you need a more complete update, you can call me when you have time. I'm a better talker than typer. We will probably be in the next time you microchip on a Sat, to get her chipped. We just love her so much and are so happy to have her. Lisa |
Linda, Here is a picture of Kate in her newly claimed chair. My mom is enjoying her. We find it hard to believe she is 8 years old. Since she has been at mom's, she acts like a 1-2 year old kitten, running around, playing with her toys, pouncing and enjoys watching the birds out of the window. At night she sleeps at the end of mom's bed and if she moves her feet -- well, let's just say, Kate thinks a new game has begun!! Thanks again,Maxine |
Binx and Pyewacket are both doing fine. There are no health issues and the two of them have settled in just fine -- chasing each other, exploring the house and closets, and are becoming great companions. We have a vet appointment for them in two weeks to get a health check and their shots. Attached is a photograph showing them in one of the many places they like to relax. Thanks again for your help and the great experience we had at Angel's Wish. |

Linda, Attached are a few pictures of Miles and Hannah. As you can see, they aren't having any trouble settling in (or taking over my bed). Both of them are eating normally and are happy and healthy. They are both very active and love chasing each other, batting around toys, and wrestling. I bought them all sorts of toys but their favorites seem to be a cardboard box and anything that crinkles. Every once in a while they will calm down long enough to come crawl all over me or perch on my shoulder. I love these two little bundles of terror already and I'm very thankful that I was given the opportunity to adopt them. Joann and Ken did a great job, and I love the fact that Miles and Hannah were raised and socialized in a home. If you would like any more infomation, please let me know. Hillary |
Hi Lois!
I hope you are doing well. I just wanted to tell you Luke is doing great. We moved to a bigger apartment in August. It has a loft so the cats are loving playing on the stairs. :) Keep up the good work you do for all the poor cats like Luke out there. You have made such a difference! I'm thankful that you cared enough to make Angel's Wish happen. Here is a recent picture of Casey and Luke I thought you might like. :) Take Care, Sally

IHi everyone at Angels Wish,
Taffy has made herself very much at home. She is very curious (still) and so keeps me up on putting things away and cleaning up. She also has the most remarkable energy which she's just starting to come down from. She can play ALL DAY and then insists on face rubs ALL NIGHT! There are far worse things to have rub your face in the middle of the night and give you little milk treading massages. Luckily, though, her clock is starting to realign with mine so she's mostly calm when I go to bed and helps me get up at 6 like I'm supposed to. She loves the shower as much as the sink. I have a walk in so she inspects it before and after I get in but never gets wet! After trying every spot in the apartment, she's found her couple of faves, not including my bed surprisingly. She "helps" me make the bed and do the laundry like any loving cat does. I purrs incessantly when I pet her. I've sent for her lisence and sign up for her insurance. I haven't made it to the vet but I wanted to give her a chance to settle in before I added anymore stress. Her weapy eye is minimal at most and she occationally sneezes but usually only when she's running around at night. She fills up the space in the best way possible. I hate leaving her when I go to work or to do errands but she's forgiving and welcoming when I come home. I hope you enjoy the photos. I have some videos too but they're too big to email. She's taken to carrying the fleece string on a stick around the apartment, into bed, onto the counter, couch, my lap..etc. She's like a dog with a favorite toy which is so funny to watch. Hope all is well and that her kitty mates are finding good homes too. Best, Kate |
Lois, Well, the babies are already settling in well. My daughter and I have been taking pictures. They, of course, will not be any more spoiled than the rest of our family. They are adjusting to the others and starting to try to play with Snuggles (our youngest male, until now). He is coming around and has played some now. Rosie and the Boys are becoming best friends. They romp and play all the time - running up and down the stairs, climbing scratching posts and cat trees to their great delight. They have all found their way upstairs with very little effort and found the cat trees up there as well as our beds. We love watching Rosie tackle the boys and chase them up the stairs. They like to sleep in the cat trees sometimes but otherwise a nice cushy spot is ideal. We are loving their antics and energy. |
Hello Lois, It's Halle, I'm happy to say that Desparado finaly got his forever name, Nigel. Thought he eats so much I call him Moo-Moo, he's so smart that he's already learned that both of those are his names.
Anna finaly has someone to play with, she will follow him around the house just to hiss/growl at him. He doesn't seem to mind and you can tell she thinks it's fun. Our bunnies love him to, they always used to chase Anna around our living room, but she wan't into it, but Nigel loves it. I think he wants to be a bunny.
We took him to the Fitchburg Veterinary Hospital and Dr. Lukas says that we picked out a good cat and he'll grow up to be tall and lean. She says that the orange males tend to be sweet and mellow, I agree. |

Dear Sue, I thought it time to bring you up to date on Cosmo. It will be one month on Tuesday that he has been here and I am happy to say everything is wonderful. It took him a few days to adapt. I am sure he was uncertain, apprehensive and a bit frightened. He would chase the two cats. When he did I would pick him up and, very loudly, say “no” and then put him down and walk away. He would hang his little head and be sad. The cat chasing lasted about three days. He now ignores the cats, as they do him, and all is good. He has a hearty appetite. Sleeps in his crate at night and in the morning when he comes out of the crate, he races through the house expressing pure joy.....and this from a 13 year old. With this beautiful weather, he and I walk a bit through the back field every day. He hears and sees far better than I expected. My veterinarian has gone over him, did blood work, established a base for him and said, “I hope I am that healthy when I reach his age.” We are a happy pair and I thank you ever so much for letting him come to me. This is the first little dog I have ever lived with and I now understand why they are so loved. Sincerely, Nancy |
Hi Lois,
I wanted to let you know how Macie is doing. She is a wonderful little cat, and seemed at home in our house right away. Our older kitten (he's 8 months old) just loves her--he grooms her and they sleep and play together like they are brother and sister. Here is a picture of them: I'll bring her back to get a microchip and say hi. Thank you for running such a great organization and helping so many animals. I will refer anyone I know who wants to adopt a pet to Angel's Wish. Happy Holidays! Karen |
Hello Sue, First of all I want to thank you for lovingly fostering little Burt and Millie - now Dweezy and Ni-Ni – giving them such a wonderful start. I’ve continued with excellent vet care, food (Evo Herring/Salmon kibble and quality canned foods as you had suggested), a beautiful cat tree which they love, plenty of toys, and an abundance of caresses and kisses! |

Lois,
